NEW ADDITION TO OUR FAMILY!!!

Our family has a new puppy for Christmas! His name is Zorro. He is a purebread shitzu. The kids are so excited. He is too cute. He is black with a little bit of white with blue eyes . Our other dog Snowball needed a friend to play with.

Congratulations to my sister Sheryl, Ava, & Mike! Sheryl is prego!!!
After contemplating wether or not she wanted to have a second child she finally did it. Her due date is Sept. 09. We are very excited sice we found out the day of the SEC championship game. What a great way to bring in the Holidays. We look forward to having a new baby in the family.

Fun Filled Weekend!!!

Florida 49- Georgia 10 Need we say more?
We had an eventful weekend. The day after Halloween was the FL/GA game. We had a little party with some of our friends who are Daws & Gator fanatics like we are. It was a great game! Here are a few pics! All we have to say is GO GATORS!!!
THEN...
The day after the Florida victory we went over to our good friends' Scott & Ashley's house/ranch. They just bought a ranch about 2 miles down the road from us with this beautiful country home. Ashley was finally able to bring her horse down from North Carolina where she grew up. I know that she was missing him terribly.
We were excited to hang with them on a lazy Sunday afternoon and have the kids see their horses. Well to our surprise we all ended up spending the afternoon on horseback. It was a fun time! This is Flora's & Chance's first time riding so they were very excited and had a great time. Now that they live so close we are looking forward to spending more time with them. They are so sweet to teach Flora and Chance to ride. Thanks Ashley & Scott!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

We took the kids trick or treating Halloween Evening and they had a wonderful time. Everyone was content. It was a lot of walking but we had no complainers until the very end. They just wanted to go back after their bags filled up. We had a ballerina princess, a wicked witch, Hannah Montana, Homer the Braves, A Storm trooper, and Wolverine. A variety of characters.
I think the grown ups were the ones that ended up tired in the end.

Flora's zoo trip

I chaperoned a field trip for Flora's Class to the Zoo. She had a wonderful time. It was very chaotic watching all these girls but fun!

WINGED CREATURES IN AUSTIN!!!

On October 6-10th my job sent me to Austin. Texas to train the New Yahoo!Ad Platform at the Austin American Statesman. At first I thought I would be all alone but my kiddos and my family were able to join me for the week. So it turned out to be a mini vacation for them.

While I was at work the kids and Andy were able to take in some of the Austin sites, one of which was the Congress Bridge which was right across from our hotel (Embassy Suites).

It was a sight too see! I have this terrible phobia of practically any creature that flies. However, Flora and Chance dragged me to see the frightful sight. There were 1.5 million bats flying around from under the bridge. There are soo many bats that they have bat tours and the bridge is famous for these nightly ceatures.EWWWWW!!!! is all I have to say.
Good thing is I survived and did not get any nightmares. Here are some pics of the kids fall break in Austin. They did visit the childrens museum and we had wonderful Tex Mex food. We did not miss seeing the live music Austin is famous for as well. We had a blast! If you look really close you can see a pic of one of those nasty creatures!

BACK TO SCHOOL August 2008

Well the School year has started and Chance & Flora finished their first week of school. Flora is now in the 1st grade and Chance in 5th. Here are some pics from their first day.

She's a working girl!

Hi All,
I thought I would let everyone know that Flora had her first job last weekend. She modeled for a company called Accucut. She will be in their back to school catalog. It was a quick 3 1/2 hours for her. She had a wonderful time. There are no pics for this post because NO outside Cameras were allowed on set. I was not able to view much because parents were not allowed on set either. ;-( I was able to peek a little bit to see what they were doing though. It was a great experience for her. As for myself, I spent 3 1/2 boring hours in the green room but was glad to do it.

NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS 2008

Hi All! Summer is here and Flora took part in the NATIONAL AMERICAN MISS 2008 Pageant! It was 3 days of hard work on her behalf and a full schedule.

This was a huge pageant & the competion had 3 phases, Personal Introduction, Formal Wear, & Interview! Yes all 3 categories just for these little girls! Lost of pressure but a good experience. There were a total of 49 girls int he competition all vying for the chance to go to Nationals out in Disneyland,California. The competition was tough. All the girls were so beautiful & poised. Only 5 girls out of the 49 would be invited. We were a little intimidated. However, to our delight Flora was one of those 5! This is her first pageant. She placed 4th runner up! We are so excited & proud of her. Please take a look at some of our pics beow. She has accomplished so much at such a young age.

Kindergarten Graduation Day!

This year Flora graduated Kindergarten.She was a busy girl!

Her accomplishments this year inculded :

Academic:The Young Author's Award for her school,Kindergarten class shirt design award,Peom Recitation award for her class.

Extracurricular: GA National Miss State Finalist, Cowan Rd. Talent Show finalist, New talent for Babes n' Beaus.

For such a young age she sure has done a lot this year. We are proud of all her accomplishemnts. Now she is off to 1st grade and we can not wait to see what she will do. Here are some pics for her events.

Chance says Good Bye to 4th Grade!!!

Chance says good bye to another year of school. He wrapped up this year with several awards which included the Honor Roll & the Good Conduct award. He will be starting his last year of elementary school this coming fall. Time Flies! We are very proud of all his accomplishments throughout the year. Only a few more years til med school. Here are some pics to recap his awards ceremony.

Happy Memorial Day & Anniversary!!!

For Memorial Day & our 5th Anniversary, we took a quick trip to Phoenix, AZ. We had nver been there before but were so excited to finally be able to go. It was short but sweet. With gas prices the way they are it was less expensive for us to fly than to drive anywhere. Go figure!


Phoenix was amazing! The weather is absolutely beautiful. We spent our days relaxing by the pool. The kids did not want to leave but unfortunately we had to get back to work and school.

Atlanta Car Show

Anyone that know us knows that we are car enthusiasts. We of course had to go to the 2008 Atlanta Car Show. The kids had a blast.

Wild Animal Safari & Shrine Circus

This was during Chance & Flora's Spring Break we took them to Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari. We drove through and fed the animals. Giraffes, Buffalo, Deer, Bulls Zebra's, all kinds of very hungry animals. We took my mom and we spent about 45 minutes laughing and screaming the entire time. It was sooo fun! The Giraffes tongues were long, purple, nasty, & slimy. A zebra decided to sneeze on us. YUCK! Then a bull rammed our van with his horns! Andy was grate ful we did not take his car into the safari. We rented a zebra van which was well worth the extra money.

Cowan Road Idol Contestant Flora Alfonso

Flora auditioned for her talent show at school and placed inthe top 3 of her grade. She was so excited! This was the actual talent showperformance, The Best of the Best! She did not win overall or even place int he top three of the whole school but she had fun performing in front of everyone. There were so many people there anyone could of gotten stage fright. However all the kids kept their cool and did their very best. We are so very proud of Flora!

We celebrated their birthdays at home and it was full of Family & Fun!

We had face painting, games, and ate 2 guitar cakes. It was a long day but well worth sharing it with family & friends.

Gatlinburg & Smokey Mountains

When we got back from Vegas we promised the kids we would take them somewhere fun to finish off their winter break. We took them to Gatlinburg, TN & Smokey Mountain Park. It was beautiful out there. We went Gem mining, Ice Skating, Minature Golfing, hiking & just walked around the town. We had a fabulous time. I have also posted a pic of the view from our room which was overlooking the town of Gatlinburg and a few pics of the amazing drive to get there.
